The HD Communicator (HDC) enables vital, secure network communication to command and control end points including the Safetran HD Link module.
The HDC provides local Echelon communication over a dual routed DSL network utilising industrial standard SHDSL. The HDC provides local Echelon open technology communication for up to 15 Safetran HD Link units or other Echelon hosts. Robust communication over an existing copper infrastructure network is achieved using standards based SHDSL technology dual routed from each HDC on the network. Point to point or ring topology may be used where all data is dual routed round the network and no time delay is experienced for redundant routing configurations to be enabled. Any number of HDCs may be fitted to the network provided sufficient bandwidth is available between them to route the required traffic demand. Each HDC on the network can be centrally addressed and managed both for faults and maintenance.
