The ION Platform
The ION Platform is an all new intelligent, high-density, multiprotocol system supporting a variety of network interface devices and media conversion modules.
It is designed for both carrier class and enterprise network applications where secure network management of the fiber interface devices is essential. Available as a 2U 19-inch rack mountable 19-slot chassis, the ION Platform offers a hot swappable architecture for both the slide-in-modules as well as the redundant power supplies. The power supplies are designed to operate in an instant fail-over configuration, reducing power consumption and extending service life. Variable speed fans will also reduce power consumption by operating at an optimal speed to keep the chassis and fiber modules cool while operating at peak efficiency in environments up to 50 degrees C.
The high density ION chassis is designed to operate in a central office (CO) or data center where multiple points of fiber integration is required. On the other end of the fiber, Network Operators can pair The ION Platform with another ION chassis, an ION stand-alone, or a Transition Networks’ Point System stand-alone device providing an end-to-end fiber integration application.
The Transition Networks ION Chassis, available as a 19-slot Chassis with AC or DC power, or a 1-slot Chassis AC powered.
The Transition Networks Power Supply Module for the ION Platform, is available as a redundant AC power supply for the 19 slot Chassis, or a redundant -48VDC power supply module for the 19 slot chassis.
To take full advantage of the features and functions available with the ION Chassis, an ION Management Module is required.
The ION DCR is a field installable dry contact relay module for the ION PS-A Power Supply.
