ATM NTUs

RAD's ATM Network Termination Units (NTUs) are carrier-owned, customer-located multiservice demarcation devices for extending carrier management and control up to the customer premises, defining a boundary between ATM-based public services and the customer private network.

The devices allow service providers to offer LAN, ATM, voice/TDM, and Frame Relay services over ATM networks. A clear demarcation point at the customer premises ensures end-to-end QoS and traffic and network management control.

Defining and monitoring traffic management parameters from the customer's premises offers carriers the ability to ensure that the user does not over-utilize allocated bandwidth, provides information on service performance and increases revenues from customer fees for access to performance information.
