Cellular Backhaul Gateways
RAD's portfolio of cell-site gateways and aggregation site gateways delivers 2G TDM, 3G ATM and Ethernet traffic over any transport network, efficiently handling real-time voice, HSPA traffic and best-effort data with cross-generation support, regardless of the underlying physical layer. Incorporating ASIC design with multi-standard TDM and ATM pseudowire support, the gateways' enhanced OAM and QoS capabilities maintain uniform, high-performance service delivery and backward compatibility for legacy service continuity over new networks. RAD's multiservice RAN (radio access network) gateways also feature high-performance capabilities for synchronization over packet transport to meet the 'SDH/SONET or better' performance levels that are required for mobile networks.
In addition, RAD's Abis optimization gateways help operators enhance throughput in GSM networks and reduce the number of E1 trunks required for BTS-BSC (base station to base station controller) backhaul.
