Ethernet Access
Microtel offer carrier-class Ethernet access solutions for extension, aggregation and demarcation of Ethernet services over any network. These products support cost-effective Ethernet communications over any media: copper, fiber or wireless.
The product portfolio includes intelligent interface converters, channelized Ethernet gateways, Ethernet aggregators, Ethernet media converters, wireless multiplexers, and unique SFP-format bridges. Additional products for Ethernet access are SHDSL modems, fiber optic modems and NTUs for Ethernet over ATM.
Many of these devices incorporate standard Ethernet OAM (operations, administration and maintenance), traffic monitoring and management technology, enabling end-to-end Quality of Service and network visibility for ensuring service level agreements (SLAs).
Grouped under the EtherAccess® family, these products cut truck rolls and reduce operating expenses to increase the profitability of low cost per bit Ethernet services.
Ethernet over TDM
The majority of Ethernet services must still be delivered over TDM (PDH) access networks or backhauled across TDM (SDH/SONET) transport networks. RAD has a comprehensive line of Ethernet over TDM access products for deploying and transporting Ethernet services using E1,T1, multiple E1, T1,E3, T3, STM-1, OC-3, and STM-4, OC-12 links.
Ethernet over Fiber
Ethernet over fiber is becoming more widespread as the cost of FTTx declines and high bandwidth applications increase. Intelligent Ethernet demarcation devices feature Ethernet OAM and traffic management capabilities. For basic Ethernet connectivity, Microtel off a set of Ethernet media converters.
Ethernet over DSL
Microtel have a range of Ethernet over xDSL copper access solutions, support carriers in converging mid-band, symmetrical Ethernet with ATM and legacy TDM services, and in optimizing cellular backhaul, by efficiency leveraging widely deployed IP or legacy ATM DSLAMs. These solutions feature carrier-grade Ethernet demarcation attributes, while utilizing widespread, wholesale SHDSL, ADSL and ADSL2+ technologies.
Interworking
Remote Ethernet interworking products offer dedicated solutions for Internet access and Ethernet bridging for campus extension.
SFP Converters
The unique SFP converters can bridge any optical port on an Ethernet switch, router or access device into a full-featured Ethernet bridge for extending Ethernet applications over TDM infrastructure. The devices, deriving power from the host device, are cost-effective alternatives to external, stand-alone bridge units.
