Microtel features new gateway products at VoIP for Business event At VoIP for Business, Microtel will emphasise its range of solutions and systems for the VoIP and VoDSL market, with the focus on two new product families. The new Dataflex Vine Series of Integrated Access Devices (IAD's) delivers low-cost voice-over broadband services and are available in a number of versions to provide scalable solutions for the SOHO and SME market sectors. These IAD's can be deployed in either a VoATM or VoIP Network with seamless migration from VoATM to VoIP via remote upgrade. The modular design satisfies a broad range of access requirements to deliver ADSL/SHDSL based customer solutions, with integrated firewall and NAT functionality to ensure local and network security. The Vine Series of IADs are pre-configured to a standard customer profile. By effective use of embedded technologies in conjunction with an element management system, customisation to specific user requirements can be managed centrally, during installation, or by the end-user through restricted web-based access. The devices operate with all major DSLAMs, soft switches and media gateways to ensure guaranteed connectivity throughout the network. Also new is the VMUX family of voice trunking gateway solutions from RAD Data Communications, for which Microtel is a UK Distributor. VMUX can provide compressed voice transmission over IP, MPLS, Ethernet or TDM networks, and uses powerful voice processing algorithms to compress up to 16 full E1/T1 circuits over a single E1/T1 serial or packet-based uplink. VMUX uses RAD's TDMoIP technology to emulate voice circuits (including signalling) transparently over IP, MPLS or Ethernet networks, and therefore eliminates the need for expensive E1/T1 voice connections between locations. Unlike VoIP solutions, VMUX provides transparent support for any standard or proprietary signalling protocol, including SS7, ISDN PRI, Q.Sig and DPNSS.
